Entry #3 You Won't Believe This

Media leads you to an opinion without actually stating an opinion? WHaaaa?

What about media stating a fact that media are stating facts while sneaking in opinions unknowingly to the public while sneaking in their own opinions to a larger audience while gaining authority by dissing the other means of media outlets?

Mind blown right?

Alright so lets start with what we all know right. Local news means that you get the news, the facts, of those around you, the people you respect right? Even though, yes those certain news sights can have a certain type of slanted reporting at times, but for the most part local news is news that you are more inclined to trust vs. the country wide ones known for political bias's.

But, don't be so set on putting your trust into anybody these days.

AND HERE'S WHY

Man OH Man, Has the news done us dirty. Instead of each one of these nice local news, has collaborated in telling us that "THIS [media bias] IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS TO OUR DEMOCRACY." Really? The blog, VOX tells us that the Sinclair Broadcasting system controls 193 stations including all of the ones seen in this video. They control what 40% of America sees everyday and who knows what their true purpose. They are a hive mind, weaving their opinions through the minds of the gullible. There is clearly a second objective to giving true factual news.  What exactly their trying to do is unsure. Maybe its a kind of mind control; a way to subtly shift our ways and opinions towards matters.

It's like we're living in an episode of Black Mirror or "1984" is slowly unraveling into the real world. Whatever it is, we have to watch out and pay attention to what media is subtly trying to feed us. Keep our guards up, form our own opinions through multiple sources, and hopefully others will follow in hopes that only the "truth" will be known.

Hey i think that this blog is amazing I love the tone and style that you put into it. I can tell you put a lot of work into it already which is so great. I cant agree with you more that these news stations are making things out to be sometimes different. I love the beginning part it is just like how the news confuses us to where we do not know the truth about something or a lie.

Entry #10 I Swear Musicals Aren't That Boring

Image
Since I've spent most of this blog talking about music, I really just wanted to share a bunch of different types of musicals with you. I know a lot of people find musicals pretty boring, but I feel like those people just haven't found the right one to watch. I mean there's a musical for everything. There's Spongebob the Musical, which I kind of find stupid, but I mean, if you find squarepant humor funny, I'm sure you'd fine this to be great. There's also Shrek the Musical which by the way is on Netflix and then there's even a Spiderman the Musical where someone actually died during a stunt right before the performance.  Cartoon creators of South Park, Family Guy, The Simpsons, use musical numbers as comedy all the time. At one point in family guy, it seemed as though every other episode had some type of catchy and amusing performance. The creators of South Park love musicals so much that they actually wrote one called, "The Boo...

Entry #11 You blogged what now?

Image
This journey as a blogger has definitely, well been a journey. I absolutely hated the idea of this thing sitting in class that day in January. I thought I had finally won and was done with it in March and then comes the first day of English 102 and HAH! SURPRISE! You have to do it again! (insert non-verbal maniacal laugh) I pretty much died at the fact that I'd have to come up with 5 more topics for blogs. I mean the last entry I had for last semester was just a poem I had written during some recent midnight thoughts. Luckily, I had been playing a lot of piano over the break, a few minutes after you announced the fact that we had to do the blogs, my inner soul ruptured so much that it initiated a light bulb effect where I came up with the three classical music directed blogs I had this semester.  I was pretty reluctant to write these until I actually started to write them, it felt like a chore, but in all sincerity, I also kind of love it. I got into A...

Entry #2 A Legendary Composer

If you have ever seen Star Wars then you are one of the lucky ones to listen to the epic works of John Williams. The infamous song, "Imperial March" has to be one of the most influential and widely known pieces in the world. However, did you know that this legendary song was inspired by music written in the 19th century?     Richard Wagner was born in Leipzig, Germany in 1813. Growing up, he wasn't very good at school, however he picked up a piano and started learning instantly. By the time he turned 16, He had started writing operas. Even though you have'nt heard of his name before, You have surely heard of his works.      " Here comes the bride, all dressed in white ."   You will here this tune as you watch your best friend or family member march down the isle on their wedding day. However, if you have ever attended a Catholic Wedding, you will notice that they don't play this Bridal Chorus. This is because Wagner is one of the most ...
